Iben Have (born 1970) is Associate Professor at School of Communication and Culture, Aarhus University. She is MA in Aesthetics and Cultureand has a Ph.D. in Musicology. Iben’s main research interest is music and sound as aesthetic and communicative devices in public media. For several years she has studied underscore music in relation to TV-documentaries and thereby discussed broader acoustemological questions about how reality, knowledge and emotions are realized, mediated and experienced through sound and music in audio-visual media. She has studied ethical discussions in relation to the use and reception of underscore music in TV documentaries portraying current Danish top politicians. Her recent research interests are in digital audiobooks (Digital Audiobooks: New Medium, New Users, New Literary Experiences?, 2011-2014) and music radio (A Century of Radio and Music in Denmark (RAMUND, 2014-2017).
