Feeding ecology - a comparative study of giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi) and African savannah elephant (Loxodonta africana africana)
I examine the giraffe feeding ecology in the Mara North Conservancy, Kenya. I observe what food items giraffe choose, as well as their feedingheight. The same observations are made for elephants. This is done to determine whether there is food competition between the two species, which could be a possible explanation for the decline of the number of giraffes in Africa.
