Emad Samuel Malki Ebeid

Emad Ebeid is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Aarhus University.
Ebeid has received his PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Verona, Italy with European Doctorate label in 2014. His PhD research was related to modeling and synthesis of the network in distributed embedded systems.

His areas of current research interests are: Modeling and Simulation of Smart Grid Applications, Wireless Sensor Networks, Networked Embedded Systems and Internet of Things.

Ebeid has received the Master's degree (M.Sc) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from AAST Academy, Cairo in 2009 and Bachelor degree (B.Sc) with Distinction from SHA Academy in 2006. He has worked as an assistant lecturer at Russian University in Cairo from 2009 to 2011.

Ebeid has teaching experiences with Internet of Things, Networked Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, Digital System Design, Hardware Programming, and Elements of Architecture and Operating Systems courses.

Ebeid is currently involved in SEMIAH FP7 EU Smart Grid Project and has been previously involved in SmartHG, COMPLEX, ToucHMore, SMAC and CONTRIX FP7 European projects.

Ebeid has a good knowledge with digital system design in FPGA; he has designed and implemented a digital down converter for Multi-mode Software Defined Radio for his master thesis project followed by physical layer implementation of wireless communication techniques: LTE, CDMA and WiMAX. Furthermore, he has implemented some encryption algorithms such as AES, Triple DES, and DES at RT level.
