Christian Fischer Pedersen received a MSc degree (Electrical and Computer Engineering), a MSc degree (Mathematics and Computer Science), and a PhD degree (Signal Processing) from Aalborg University, Denmark. Currently, he is with the Section of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Engineering, Aarhus University. At this section, he has, with a colleague, established the Distributed and Pervasive Systems Research Group including a laboratory with equipment for a broad range of experimental studies. Christian teaches and supervises at BSc, MSc, and PhD levels, he has co-organized conferences, workshops and summer schools, he has authored more than 60 scientific publications including a patent with Fraunhofer, and he has participated in more than 10 national and international research projects. Christian has been a visiting scholar at: i) Aalto University Helsinki, ii) Imperial College London, iii) Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and iv) University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is an IEEE Senior Member and currently chairing The Danish Society of Engineers' Professional Network on Embedded Systems that has around 2450 members. Christian's research interests include distributed computing, signal processing and statistical learning. Of particular interest are computationally efficient and distributed algorithms for optimization, signal modeling, sparse signal approximation and sparse signal reconstruction for compressed sensing and other inverse problems. Applications focus on systems to process speech, audio or biomedical signals.
