Research Interests

Quantitative measurements of animal behaviour. Effects of environmental contaminants on animal behaviour with emphasis on mechanistic links to other levels of biological organisation. Development of computer-aided video tracking systems for uncovering animal behaviour.
Other fields of interest: Metal histochemistry. Structure and function of vertebrate chemosensory organs
Current projects: Effects of endocrine disruptors on the sexual behaviour and reproduction in fish. Mechanistic relationships between metabolism, respiration and behaviour in arthropods.
Methods: Computer-aided video tracking systems; Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (metal analysis); Spectrophotometric measurements of enzyme activity.
