Kiril Manevski

Kiril Manevski is a young scientist with PhD in agroecology (plant and soil), MSc in remote sensing of the environment and graduated environmental engineer. His primary research focuses on the water and nitrogen cycles at field- and regional scale and process-based modelling of (agro-)ecosystems. At present, he investigates the yield benefits of optimized agricultural systems involving novel annual and perennial crops, compared to conventional counterparts, as well as the environmental consequences of their growth in relation to soil nitrate dynamics, leaching and gaseous nitrogen emissions. The study integrates field data with process-based modelling and targets for development and improvement of agro-ecosystems that are resource use efficient to produce large biomass in Denmark. The work is part of the BIOVALUE SPIR strategic platform for innovation and research on value added products from biomass. Kiril Manevski is also involved into research and course teaching in China within the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research, as he is involved within the Danida-funded “Building Stronger Universities” project with KNUST in Ghana.
