Research areas:

  • Field vegetable crops
  • The main research area today is plant physiology with modelling of growth and development, especially phenology, phase shift and vernalization of cauliflower and broccoli, but also sprouting of onions
  • Cultivation technique, quality assessment , and variety trials in vegetables for industrial processing. Especially green peas for deep freezing, spinach and onions
  • Research in organic farming has also recently become a theme. Starting with research in the ability of green pea genotypes to compete with weeds


The introduction of alternative vegetable crops has been an area of mine, but this is now of lower priority
