Tzu-Hsin Karen Chen

I am a GIScientist and a PhD student. My research interest is to develop spatial models and remote sensing methodology for identifying disaster impacts, risk and risk factors interfacing climate change and urban environment. Presently, I study on urban forms from physical land cover patterns, social segregation, to human commuting behaviours. Working with my supervisor Prof. Clive Sabel, my PhD is a part of Big Data Centre, a Novo project developing innovative analytics and integrated data sets to support policing on public health and sustainable development. With my working experience in Taiwan, I look forward to comparing the changing urban patterns and climate challenges in Europe and Southeast Asia under different socio-cultural contexts.
