Marine ecotoxicology is my field of reasearch, where I primarily focus on contaminant effects on benthic and pelagic foodwebs, but also in part on macrovegetation and macrofauna-microbial interactions. Molecular analysis of microbial communities and analytical chemistry are two of my other research interests. Keywords: direct and indirect effects, variation in sensitivity, resilience, ecosystem effects, TBT, ZPT/CPT, PAH. Current research activities include:
  • Thresholds - EU-project, WP on combined effects of nutrients and contaminants in pelagic systems
  • Effects of contaminants in the arctic marine environment with focus on PAHs and heavy metals
  • Effects of contaminants on macrovegetation
  • Interactions between microbes and macrofauna in sediments in relation to contamination
  • Climate change records in Kangerlussuaq fjord (Greenland)
  • Contaminant induced tolerance and genetic changes
  • Functional microbial community analysis using mRNA
