In our coming book, The Metainterface, we (Christian Ulrik Andersen and Søren Pold) describe how the interface has developed beyond the PC and is integrated into devices, apps, clouds, and data streams as new cultural platforms. The metainterface is both omnipresent and invisible, at once embedded in everyday objects and characterized by hidden exchanges of information between objects. Furthermore, through corporations such as Amazon, Apple and Google and their devices such as e-readers (Kindle), smartphones and platforms, the metainterface has become a new cultural industry characterized by data-tracking and cloud platforms. The presentation will include works by John Cayley/Daniel Howe and others
