The aim of the pilot study is to develop and pilot test a Danish version of the Abecedarian Approach and an innovative implementation model with the view to develop a research protocol for a full-scale impact evaluation of the Abecedarian programme in Denmark.
More specifically, the pilot will:
(1)Translate and adapt the Acebedarian programme content to the Danish context to develop an institution-based intervention that enhances adult-child interaction practices in public (and private) daycares;
(2)Develop an innovative implementation frameworks - including a reflection tool – that ensures a systematic and structured implementation approach and enhance the extent to which all children – including disadvantaged children – are engaged in the programme;
(3) Field test the APIIF;
(4) Formulate a research protocol for a full scale evaluation of the APIIF programme in Denmark.
