Exhibition
2004 ‘Yumi bildim kano'. Initiator and coordinator of an exhibition about the building of canoes in Manus, Papua New Guinea (including issues of craftsmanship, identity, intellectual property, exchange and transport). The exhibition included the building of a large seagoing sailing canoe from original materials by five Manus craftsmen, as well as the activities of a Manus painter Joe Nalo celebrating ‘traditional' village life. The exhibition generated a lively interest in the press and local television and the canoe was launched in the Bay of Aarhus and sailed all the way to Copenhagen. Moesgård Museum, May -August.
