Simon Calmar Andersen (ph.d., Aarhus Universitet 2007) er professor ved Institut for Statskundskab og chef for TrygFondens børneforskningscenter, Aarhus Universitet. Hans forskning og undervisning fokuserer på forskellige aspekter af politisk og administrativ styring og deres betydning for offentlige organizationers resultater med særligt fokus på dagtilbuds- og skoleområdet. Hans arbejder er publiceret i internationale tidsskrifter såsom Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Amereican Journal of Political Science, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory. Han er endvidere medlem af SFI's Research Advisory Board og af Advisory Board for The Public Management Evidence Lab i Hong Kong. Fra 2009-13 var han medlem af formandskabet for Rådet for evaluering og kvalitetsudvikling af folkeskolen (Skolerådet), der rådgav Børne- og undervisningsministeren. Under sin ansættelse som post doc. og senere lektor var han også ansat i Aarhus Kommune blandt andet som sektionsleder.

2017: 1.5 million DKK from Egmont Fonden. NEST evaluates interventions aimed at including students with special needs in ordinary class rooms. Co-P) with Helena Skyt Nielsen.

2016: 4.4 million DKK from TrygFonden. Project READ day care provides a home-environment intervention to support language development and development of personal skills (conscientiousness). PI.

2015: 3.0 million DKK from TrygFonden. READ Implementation tests the effectiveness of a national rollout of the evidence-based READ intervention. Co-PI with Ulrik Hvidman.

2015 : 9.3 million DKK from Ministry of Education. Well-being of Children in Primary Schools and Students at Technical Colleges (youth). PI.

2014: 6.4 million DKK from Ministry for Education. The Mother Tongue Teaching Program includes four trials and a total of 8 interventions (e.g. extra Danish lessons). Co-PI with Maria Humlum.

2013: 4.6 million DKK from TrygFonden. Project READ tested a parent-reading intervention. PI.

2013: 3.1 million DKK from Ministry of Education. Co-teacher Classrooms evaluates three different interventions with co-teachers. Co-PI with Helena Skyt Nielsen.
