Title: Greenhouse Gas emissions from cultivation of oil seed rape for biofuels
Description: In this PhD project, we aim to measure field-scale in situ levels of N2O emissions from two soil types in Denmark, hereby providing high quality data suitable for inclusion in a future calculation of Tier 2 emission
values to replace IPCC default values. In the research designs, we will include biochar and nitrification inhibitors in order to test and increase the knowledge on these N2O mitigation options under Danish farming and climatic conditions. Furthermore, we will address the overall question of environmental advantages or disadvantages of integrating pyrolysis in the energy supply along with biochar as a soil amendment to mitigate N2O mitigation and increase carbon storage in the soil.
