Research interests:
My primary research interest is the European societies in the first millennium AD and the beginning of the Medieval Period. With my work, I try to paint a picture of the interplay and development of ideological, economic, military and political aspects of society. Currently, I am leading a research project on the so called Trelleborg Fortresses from the end of the 10th century AD (se the project website: www.kongensborge.dk). Besides I am working with the investigation of the metal detector site Füsing in North Germany.
